Job PurposeTo optimize the sales for woman’s wear category by having the right merchandise on the retail shop floor at the right time at the right price and in the right quantities. Responsible for every aspect of the in-store retailing of products specific to the category of woman’s wear until those products are taken out the doors by a purchasing customer.
Job Description1. Evaluate and review the existing brand category portfolio and make recommendations for adding additional brands or discontinuing existing brands with an aim to improve category specific sales and profitability
2. Research market to understand key trends and customer preferences in order to determine local market needs and buying habits in order to drive overall product assortment within the category.
3. Develop the overall buying calendar for the year and lead the development of category financial plan.
4. Partner closely with store operations to evaluate both existing and new brands and by developing and executing surveys to determine customer brand acceptance levels.
5. Demonstrated strengths in using consumer, product, POS, competitor, and related data to identify product solutions that grow market share and drive profits for the company.
6. Continuously monitor stock levels to ensure inventory targets are in line with the category financial plan and take appropriate actions to liquidate slow moving stock.
7. Represent the company on buying trips to various fairs and exhibitions.
8. Lead the development of healthy relationships with suppliers of various brands to ensure the right selection, availability and acquisition of products in a timely and cost effective manner.
9. Lead negotiation of prices, delivery and payment terms with suppliers
10. Perform any other duty, within a reasonable professional boundary, as assigned by the Head of the Department from time to time.

Required Skills1. 6-8 years previous experience in women's clothing, preferable in luxury brands.
2. Strong detail orientation and financial acumen coupled with the ability to analyze data to make purchasing decisions
3. Managerial experience with direct reports with a strong ability to inspire team performance
4. A record of successfully partnering with internal customers to optimize category performance and profits
